That's a good question. Free plan generally have their own limitation such as check interval & number of checks you can carry out. Our Bento plan is the most comprehensive and affordable uptime monitoring plan in the market with the Free bundle of SSL Security Certificate when you sign up for yearly subscription PLUS the 10% promotion offer.

I have been getting notifications but when I check my site/services and they are fine.
People who have sites on shared hosts are sometimes surprised when they get down notices and their site seems to be working ok. The performance of shared web hosts depends a lot on the traffic going to other sites on the shared host. It is often necessary to tune the Sensitivity and timeouts a little to get the balance right so you get notices when you want them, but not when the site is performing normally.
Apart from that, firewall blocking would be a part of consideration that may trigger the false alert. Do contact our support team if you have such situation and we would be very much to help you to dig further to get this working for you.
Are you sure about the Unlimited notifications - particularly on SMS?
We believe each downtime incident should be seriously be alerted - as each downtime means business revenue loss. There shouldn't be any set back about missing the alert due to out of credit.
However, the delivery of notifications is not completely under our control. If your email server isn't working or your mobile phone is out of range or your mobile provider has problems, you may not receive the notifications. Some regions of the world are easier to deliver SMS notifications and voice calls than others. You may incur additional charges for delivery of notifications in some parts of the world, depending on your local carriers, and there may be some locations to which we cannot as a practical matter reach you for notifications. Our unlimited notifications policy is intended to make sure you receive notifications from all actionable events on our checks. We may decline to send notifications that appear to be spam or other misuse of the notification system.
For best practices, we recommend leveraging all our supported notifications type - emails, SMS, Twitter and mobile push notifications via PagerDuty and PushOver. You can setup additional point of contacts in as your notification profiles.
